This season has been probably one of the toughest seasons in the history of leesbrook rugby. With many players retiring ,going to uni, leaving the area ,work commitments and long term injurys the player base was substantially lowered .As a result 7away games we could not field a team and gave the points to the opposition .This shows just how few players we had certain weeks and how tough its been to get a team out this season. Each week we did play the team was drastically different and not once did we field the same 15 for 2 or more games,This shows in the results we had .Beating east leake skeggness and long eaton and narrowly losing to nottingamians ,tupton and horncastle all by 3points or less.
We are pleased we made it through the season and with new players joining ,injured players returning and people changing there work commitments our player base looks to increase for the upcoming season in midlands 5 (north east). We are also now working closely with the rfu on all matters but most importantly our changing rooms and facilitys as they are currently in a very poor state and are looking at getting new changing rooms, The upcoming season looks very bright and with the players and squad we have got we are aiming to be league champions 2012/13 i hope everyone involved in the club can put more effort into helping out and running the club and that the players will be more committed. Have a good summmer and be READY for pre season training early july.
