Neil Lyne looks to keep the winning run going

Neil Lyne travelled to Potton with the bare bones of a squad as Hinckley looked for another 3 points on the road.

Joe Lyne and Sam Munton suffered serious injuries in the midweek win at Desborough, Jake Brown, Alec Hill, Adam Hohn and Nathan Astill were all unavailable, Jordan Burrows and Jack Harrison remained on the long term injury list so young Dan Winterbotham was recalled from his loan spell.

Nonetheless Neil Lyne was still able to field a balanced starting line-up which feature young Lewis Jones in an attacking role.

Potton created the first chance, a shot that drifted just wide then Will Highland was called into action again with a fine stop down to his left on 15 mins.

Hinckley appeared to fine their stride thereafter and started to force Potton back with their penetrating passing and quick moving style which helped them get in behind several times in quick succession without any end product in an entertaining 15 mins spell.

Liam Read opened the scoring after 32 mins after Matty Langham broke down the left and played him in to neatly tuck the ball away and put Hinckley 0-1 up. 2 mins later Lewis Jones found the next following great work down the right from Liam Read and a Matty Langham step-over to put Hinckley 0-2 up.

Hinckley stayed on the ascendance with the highlight being Callum Earls shooting from the half way line but his shot drifted narrowly wide. Hinckley continued to control the game and went in at half-time with a deserved lead.

Half-time: Potton United 0 Hinckley LRFC 2

Hinckley took just 3 mins after the restart to get their third. This time Tom Smith picked the ball up on the half way line and dribbled past 4 players and struck a delightful shot into the bottom right corner to make it 0-3 after 48 mins.

Hinckley continued to dominate the play leaving Potton camped permanently in their defensive third as they found it difficult to intercept the slick passing and movement. Tom Smith crossed from the left and found Liam Read who cut it back for debutant Lewis Jones to make a brace by firing through the legs of the Potton keeper on 55 mins to make it 0-4.

Ben Humphreys was harshly booked on 62 mins for a 50-50 tackle and then Potton made a rare foray forward with their shot beating Will Highland but rebounding off the post after 70 mins.

Jack Beasley came on and replaced Lewis Jones after 75 mins and Hinckley continued to dominate the game. Matty Langham drove into the box and crossed for Tom Smith to side foot in after 92 mins to round-off a good day at the office for Hinckley by making it 0-5.
