Leicester Road U18’s finally got their Midland Floodlit Youth League semi-final on at the third time of asking after the fixture was reversed and rescheduled back at Leicester Road Stadium.

Leicester Road of the Eastern Division were up against AFC Wulfrunians of the Premier Division North, but it was the Leicester Road youngsters that started brighter in the first 15 minutes creating counter attacking opportunities down the left flank.

However, it was AFC Wulfrunians who broke the deadlock after 26 mins capitalising on loose play. 2 mins later AFC Wulfrunians scored their second following a scramble following a corner.

The second half was evenly contested with neither side creating any clear-cut chances other than a fine effort from Humphreys from 20 yards on 75 mins that forced a fine save from the AFC Wulfrunians keeper.

AFC Wulfrunians will meet the winners of either Worcester City or Halesowen Town who play in the other semi-final on the 1st April.
