Update on the current situation @LeighRUFC
During these unprecedented times, the board has three major priorities for our club.
• The health and well being of everyone involved with Leigh RUFC
• Ensuring that there is a rugby union club in Leigh for players and the local community to enjoy when things return to normal.
• Starting the New Field Project
Priority 1 - Health and Well being
The Board of Leigh RUFC do not wish to push a panic button regarding the obvious threats and dangers that Coronavirus presents, especially to anyone with underlying health conditions, but feel that it is necessary to update you on where we are.
The threats from this virus are real and we understand that it is important the Board remains calm and deliver a controlled response to this ever-changing situation.
To do this, we will continue to monitor advice and updates from our Government, National Health Executive, the RFU and any local official body that provides us with facts and suggested actions.
We have let the experts decide for us and we will continue to follow the official guidelines.
Friday evening, 20th March, the club was closed.
Monday evening, 23rd March, the gym was closed and the car park locked.
People have now been identified to ensure the security of these premises daily.
Update on Priority 2 -Ensuring that there is a rugby union club in Leigh for players and the local community to enjoy when things return to normal will follow tomorrow, Wednesday March 25th
