Leigh go down away to Keswick.

Leigh travelled to Keswick yesterday with another much changed side. It was always going to be a mammoth task for them and unfortunately, they came away defeated, picking up some more injuries along the way.

Keswick had all of the early possession and were duly rewarded in the 20th minute when they got over for an unconverted try wide out on the left.

Eight minutes later Leigh were down to 14 men and Keswick quickly took advantage of this by adding two more tries and a conversion by half time.

A good start to the second half saw Keswick extend their lead, in the 50th minute, when a clever crosskick found their winger in space, for him to stroll over for a try, that was well converted from wide out of the left.

Keswick finished off the match, in the 78th minute, following a poor clearance kick by Leigh, when they got over for another converted try to take them off worthy winners by thirty-one points to nil.

Rob Drake was awarded Man of the Match for Leigh but debutant, Tom Daniels, had a cracking game and must have been very close behind Rob in the rankings.

Next week Leigh entertain Rochdale at Round Ash Park. K.O. 2.15. p.m.
