A tough day at the office for the Bulldogs before hard work brings success

Bulldogs go down to Wigan before overcoming West Park

On a crisp and misty morning the Bulldogs finally beat the weather and got back into action.

In the first game of the day the Bulldogs faced local neighbours Wigan and began in style with Leo breaking away for the first try of the day.

With some strong rucking Wigan built field possession and eventually got over the Bulldogs line to level things up.

Wigan scored next to put their noses in front with the Bulldogs battling at every breakdown.

Despite some outstanding and fierce tackling from Owen and Harrison G, Wigan got a further try.

With a deep kick off Wigan immediately pinned the Bulldogs to their own line and with the home team under under severe pressure Wigan got over for their fourth try which was immediately followed by two more as the Bulldogs struggled to get out of their own half.

With the Bulldogs finally getting some possession Oliver C and Sammy drove strongly and built momentum before Wigan got a breakaway try.

Following a kick from Tyler the Bulldogs got into the Wigan half and a misplaced Wigan kick fell kindly for Harrison G who fended off the defenders to score a great try which brought the game to a conclusion.

FT: 2-7

In the next game of the day the Bulldogs faced the second Wigan team.

A smart Harrison G kick moved the Bulldogs upfield and gave them good field position to build on but Wigan found a gap to open the scoring which was quickly followed by two further tries.

Wigan added a fourth following a smart chip kick.

Some brilliant goal line defence repelled Wigan before the pressure became too great with a try in the corner.

With injuries to Harrison M and Oliver C the depleted squad dug deep and battled hard. Wigan added two further tries before the final whistle.

FT: 0-7

In the final game of the day the Bulldogs faced West Park.

The Bulldogs got off to a flying start with Harrison G going the full length for a brilliant try.

The Bulldogs immediately doubled their lead with Harrison G sending Leo in with a brilliant off load.

A rejuvenated Harrison M was next on the scoresheet before Leo added a fourth.

A good drive from Lawrence set the Bulldogs up before Tyler scooted in at the corner.

Leo made a stunning break and looked to have extended the lead further before being adjudged to have knocked on in the act of scoring. With good field position Sammy made it six Bulldogs tries.

West Park got on the scoresheet after putting the Bulldogs under pressure from a kick before the referee brought the long morning to a close.
