Bulldogs put in perfect performance away at Sedgley Park

On a crisp morning with Christmas in sight the Bulldogs made the trip to Bury to face a big and physical Sedgley Park team. A depleted squad acquitted themselves heroically to sign the year off in style.

The Bulldogs made a bright start immediately putting the hosts under pressure with good defence particularly from Harrison M .

Max scored first following a break from Leo with the Bulldogs moving the ball freely.

Owen scythed through the defence to give the Bulldogs good field position. Despite this Sedgley levelled the game with a breakaway try including a great offload.

A tremendous superman dive from Harrison M helped the Bulldogs claim a ball steal before Harrison G rampaged over the line to put the Bulldogs back in front.

Harrison G broke through again and looked set to score before a fumble over the line led to a brief fracas.

The Bulldogs hit straight back with a brilliant try started by Max with a world class off load to Owen whose mazy run set up Harrison G.

Owen scored immediately scored from the kickoff with a brilliant solo run before Sedgley got a try back.

P1: 4-2

Owen carried on as he left off with a brilliant try following good work from Max.

Harrison G broke from deep in the Bulldogs half before passing to Max who was rewarded with a relentless drive to the line.

With the home team under pressure they tried to kick their way out of trouble but unfortunately kicked to Owen who collected broke the line and handed to Harrison G to score.

Harrison G made a brilliant break before passing to Leo who scored with the Bulldogs dominant.

Owen scored next following a good break from Max.

Despite the Bulldogs controlling the game Sedgley scored a fine breakaway try before adding another in quick succession.

Oliver D was unlucky not to add a tenth try following a good break before the referee blew his whistle.

P2: 9-4

A Jonny Wilkinson grubber kick from Oliver C popped into Max’s hands for a try from the kick off.

Sedgley kicked off to Owen who scored immediately before Harrison M and Leo fed each other before putting Max in for another try.

Harrison G was next on the score sheet with the Bulldogs looking more like the Fiji 7s team.

Sedgley got a try back through a determined drive.

Good tackling from Orran gave the Bulldogs a platform for Owen to feed to Max who extended the lead.

Good driving by Oliver C moved the Bulldogs upfield before a great individual breakaway got a try back for the home team bringing the game to an end.
