Town Take 3 Points At Oxhey Jets

A malicious lash out at goalkeeper Brad kirkwood led to a booking for the home side in the 53rd minute of the game. The 68th minute saw a return in action for Tom Bryant, who had spent a lengthy period on the sidelines after acquiring an injury in pre-season, coming on for Alfie Osbourne. Five minutes later James Towell finds himself at the end of an Archie Mclelland cross from the right wing, putting the town 3-0 up, jubilous scenes for the vast Town following who had made the 30 mile journey and made themselves heard, once again. The hosts responded within a minute with striker Putman putting away the rebound to his shot that was initially saved by Brad. The town, now 3-1 up, introduced Ashton Campbell in the 77th minute replacing Archie Mclelland, who had increased his goal total to 9 in all competitions this season and notched up an assist. Seconds after the restart, Jets substitute Chris Blunden saw red for a kick out on Joe Fitzgerald, leaving both sides with now an even 10 men going into the final ten minutes of the game, with more goals on the cards. Nearing its conclusion, the game seemed over, until Ashton Campbell was played through on goal in the 91st minute, smashing past the goalkeeper at his near post on the half volley. We`ve seen that somewhere before! The Win takes the Town to 7th in the table, just 6 points behind league leaders Eynesbury, with 3 games in hand.
