It took a mere 12 seconds for the town to take the lead away at an in-form Oxhey this past saturday as Archie Mcllelland latched on to a connor calcutt flick that broke the defence.

This quickly woke the Jets up who followed the early opener with an onslaught on goal, forcing Brad into several fantastic saves as well as a goal preventing, last ditch tackle from Joe Fitzgerald,
one of many game changing challenges from the centre half. Leighton`s patience and defensive discipline paid off in the 25th minute when left back Tom silford found himself in the box, where he was brought down, leaving the referee no choice but to award a spot kick. Up steps Connor Calcutt who forces a great save out of the Oxhey keeper but makes light work of smashing home the rebound. Tempers flared in the 29th minute when Louie Collier saw red for a mistimed tackle that caused aggressive protests from the home side players and dugout. Half time came and the Town, now being down to 10 men, took off target man Connor Calcutt and introduced Ross Adams to the game. A malicious lash out at goalkeeper Brad kirkwood led to a booking for the home side in the 53rd minute of the game. The 68th minute saw a return in action for Tom Bryant, who had spent a lengthy period on the sidelines after acquiring an injury in pre-season, coming on for Alfie Osbourne. Five minutes later James Towell finds himself at the end of an Archie Mclelland cross from the right wing, putting the town 3-0 up, jubilous scenes for the vast Town following who had made the 30 mile journey and made themselves heard, once again. The hosts responded within a minute with striker Putman putting away the rebound to his shot that was initially saved by Brad. The town, now 3-1 up, introduced Ashton Campbell in the 77th minute replacing Archie Mclelland, who had increased his goal total to 9 in all competitions this season and notched up an assist. Seconds after the restart, Jets substitute Chris Blunden saw red for a kick out on Joe Fitzgerald, leaving both sides with now an even 10 men going into the final ten minutes of the game, with more goals on the cards. Nearing its conclusion, the game seemed over, until Ashton Campbell was played through on goal in the 91st minute, smashing past the goalkeeper at his near post on the half volley. We`ve seen that somewhere before! The Win takes the Town to 7th in the table, just 6 points behind league leaders Eynesbury, with 3 games in hand. Next up is Newport Pagnell away on tuesday, 19:45 Kick off!
