Strathendrick v 14 man Lenzie
The second XV travelled over to Fintry with only 14 players but decided to start the game being outnumbered by the home side. Conditions for the game were good. Despite Strathendrick having an additional player, it was Lenzie who opened the scoring early in the match with the ball being spread from a scrum and the backs running it in. Lenzie could not build on this lead and suffered 2 well worked tries from Endrick prior to debutant Adhay suffering a shoulder dislocation. Fair play to the hosts though, who took off a couple of players to make it even at 13 a side. Lenzie squandered a couple of scoring opportunities in the first half with knock-ons near the line.
The second half saw Lenzie under sustained pressure as fresh players from Endrick exploited a tiring Lenzie team who by now were carrying several injures with no replacements available. Despite this Lenzie scored the last try of the game, by which time the game was well beyond them.
Lenzie scorers were BJ making his return from last years temporary retiral and young Euan McKay scoring 2 on his senior debut and an overall performance to earn his man of the match award.
Next week the 2's are at home to Clydebank - lets see some more players making themselves available.
