Today we welcomed Jeanfield to the Acres in league business. We were looking to continue our good start to the season but in a largely forgettable first half we scored the only goal of the half on the stroke of half time when the ball landed at the feet of Michael Ramsay at the edge of the box and he slammed the ball into the roof of the net.

Into the second half and we made it 2-0 within a minute of the restart when a cross ball was challenged between the Jeanfield keeper and Ben Ayton and the ball rebounded to Mark Harvey who prodded the ball into the net. For the next wee while we squandered lots of chances and a combination of woodwork, good goalkeeping, defending and poor finishing saw the score remain the same. Jeanfield pulled one back in 60 minutes when we didn’t clear the ball properly and Ross McKerchar was unlucky with his save but the ball somehow squirmed into the top corner of the net. We regained our 2 goal lead and made it 3-1 on 73 minutes when a great through ball for Stephen Mann played in Richard Wheeler who rounded the keeper to score.

A largely forgettable game at the Acres today where we were nowhere near our best but we got the win and kept up our 100% start to the season, we now look to next weeks tough game away to Bridge of Earn in league business.
