Fintry 3-0 Letham Afc

We made the short trip through to Dundee for probably the toughest fixture we could have been handed in the North of Tay Cup an away tie against one of the favourites Fintry. The boys were determined to progress in the cup and in the opening stages both teams had a couple of half chances before Fintry scored after 8 minutes when their striker shot from the edge of the box and the ball took a wicked deflection off one of our defenders and wrong footed our keeper. This set back would spur us on and in a half where there was no more goals we came closest with efforts from Stuart Banks and an Aaron Galletly header hitting the post.

Into the second half and we thought we were back on level terms when a great move saw the ball played across goal to Stuart Banks but he stabbed his effort agonisingly wise. Moment later Fintry scored a killer second when their man charged down a backpass and the ball cannoned off him and into the net.
The boys continued to battle and we were still creating chances but just could not find the net, another goalmouth scramble saw the ball land at Adam Storrar but again his effort went wide of the target. Fintry scored a third in 70 minutes when their impressive number 9 made space for himself to finish well. In the closing stages our keeper Ross Mckerchar pulled of a couple of great saves.

A tough one today in a game we were well in but lost some very cheap goals, both teams tried to play football on a really poor surface.
