INFORMATION SHEET w/c MONDAY, 27th MAY, 2019
Very Many Thanks.......
.......to all who turned up on Saturday, 18th May for the Taster Day, including some family members. It was very disappointing that none of the public turned up to find out what the event was all about. We’d put much effort into publicising it.
However, the newly-elected President of Lancashire Folk, Valerie Kite, put in an appearance and a lady from a local ukulele club, who came to listen to the music and provided us with a very appreciative audience. A Lancashire Post photographer put in an appearance too, so we may get some publicity from it after all.
Needless to say, we didn’t waste our time: we practised some of the usual dances and made a lot of progress with the Upton-upon-Severn dance, which was very satisfying.
Sadly, Valerie fell in her garden two days later and ended up in the Royal Preston Hospital with a broken femur.

NO PRACTICE but.......RS has been invited to do some longsword dancing with a group at Galloway Hall, Brackenbury Road, Fulwood, PRESTON, PR2 3BS.
The ‘clients’ will be a mixture of Preston Folk Dance Club members and some Scouts.
It’s a 7:30 pm start.
Would anyone be interested in going along to help? Please let Roy know a.s.a.p.
No bookings in July & August. However, ....... we’d appreciate ideas for an evening out (not necessarily a Monday), perhaps dancing at a pub and enjoying a boules or a bowls evening together; perhaps simply sharing a social evening and a buffet. What do YOU think?? We need to keep our profile in the public domain.
