A career best bowling from Jordan Pickles backed up by spin twin Marcus Kelly turned the must win game in the seconds’ favour.

Despite a steady start from the hosts they put on 80 for the first wicket, albeit runs were ground out during an attritional first hour.

It was the introduction of spin that edged things the visitor’s way, with Kelly and Pickles quickly finding their stride on a deck offering encouraging amounts of turn.

Pickles six wickets included a neat catch from Chrissy Dyer and a juggling effort from Max Gardner.

At the other end Kelly was indebted to a classy effort from David Knight who drilled well in the field throughout the afternoon.

A fine boundary catch by Josh Booth helped achieve a maximum haul of bonus points and earn the middle of the brothers a deserved fielding point. Gardner cleaned up the last man with Pickles and Kelly sharing the other nine wickets.

The Ossett target was quickly knocked off with Pickles hitting a pleasing 28 and Knight quickly drilling 20, including the shot of the day wide of mid on.

A great team effort. Even Trevor Priestley was happy. Gomersal await.
