Coaching and Refereeing 1 of 2

1. Coaching Intro

Hello and welcome to the coaching section of Lincoln RFC

Coaching is one of the most crucial factors in developing, sustaining and increasing participation in rugby union, securing the future and quality of the game.

Anybody can try and coach rugby, but to be an effective coach, you will need to fulfill a number of different roles and accept a variety of responsibilities, covering the technical, tactical, physical and mental aspects demanded by our game, so here at Lincoln RFC we are actively promoting that all coaches are qualified, regularly attend CPD courses and hold a current coach license.

If you are a qualified coach or someone who is not qualified but want to get involved in coaching at Lincoln RF, or if you are already involved in coaching and want to develop/ progress please contact Martin Kerrigan (Club Coaching Coordinator) for more information.

There are two types of coaching courses available; Award Courses and Non Award Courses.

The Award Courses consists of:
• UKCC Level 1 – Coaching Children Rugby Union
• UKCC Level 2 – Coaching Rugby Union

The Non Award Courses consists of:
• IRB Rugby Ready
• CPD/ Scrum Factory
• TAG Rugby
