Ex-Boston United quartet: Demi Barai, Lauren Carter, Steph Powell and Tracey Duxbury-Mead have all committed to returning to the team for the forthcoming season, after originally making the move last summer.

After winning the league and plate double, unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, Boston United Ladies ceased to exist. Barai, Carter, Duxbury-Mead and Powell all made the transition across from Boston United prior to the start of the 2019/20 season, each bringing quality and depth to the side.

Ex-West Ham United player, Duxbury-Mead has quality in abundance. In her final season at Boston United, saw her notch 30 goals, reaching 100 goals for the club in as little as three seasons. Despite a three month spell on the sidelines last term due a calf injury, Tracey still managed a ratio of a goal a game, as well as adding significant quality to the team's attacking line, playing as either a striker or #10.

The team's voted 'Players' Player' for the 2019/20 season, Demi Barai, is everything you want in a central midfielder: power, aggression, energy and amongst all quality to pass and score goals. It's of no surprise her own teammates voted her for the award in her first season, having contributed heavily all over the pitch, including six goals in 10 league games.

Barai had this to say on committing to sign for 'The Whites', "Delighted to be committing to Lincoln United as well as being excited to continue playing for Chris, Cal and the whole setup. Since moving at the start of last season, the girls have been nothing but welcoming and we've really gelled as a team with a unified end goal in sight, which I'm sure we would have reached if the season hadn't been cut short. Hopefully, this forthcoming season, we can carry on where we left off, in winning ways and ready to get promoted."

Ex-Boston United Ladies Captain, Steph Powell made the seamless transition into the team's back line. Calm, measured, committed and aggressive, Powell featured in every game last season, even captaining the side on a few occasions. A leading light and future captain material, Steph's committed approach on and off the pitch is exactly what any manager, men's or women's would want. The ex-double winning, skipper had this to say, "Signing for a second season was a no brainer for me, it's a great group both on and off the pitch; the support over the last year and particularly throughout the last couple of months throughout lockdown has been fantastic. The changes this season, moving across to Lincoln United will be really positive and I can't wait to be part of that special journey. We were so disappointed with how last season ended given the hard work we had already put in but that was our dress rehearsal and we're already working hard individually to make sure we can do even better going into the new season."

Finally, but by no means least, the naturally gifted, Lauren Carter. Having moved back to the country from Cyprus during the 2017/18 season, Carter made her senior debut at 16 for Hykeham Town. Following interest from Boston United, Carter followed ex-Hykeham Town Women's manager, Lee Mitchell. Here she had a hugely successful campaign, scoring 10 league goals with a notable brace in the league plate final to secure Boston their second piece of silverware. Still not even 20, Carter returned back to Hykeham, scoring a hat-trick on the opening day in The FA Cup; a hugely influential and versatile player who can unlock any defence be it centrally or out wide.

Manager, Chris Funnell commented on his most recent retained players, "I'm absolutely delighted that all four players have chosen to remain with us. Last summer, I've no doubt they all received interest from other clubs but they chose to sign with us and they helped take an already good team to a new level. Goals, commitment, aggression and an overall quality are attributes that any manager wants, it's something that individually and together these four players bring. These players making their commitment to continue with us at Lincoln United is really exciting and pleasing, knowing players of this quality want to be a part of this project both now and in the future."

All four players are available to sponsor for the coming season, along with many other club and team commercial opportunities, as listed within the commercial brochure below.
