Lincoln United Football Club is delighted to announce and launch its official 'Supporters Club'.

The founding members include many familiar faces at Ashby Avenue; from former players to management, all with exciting connections to 'The Whites'. The Supporters Club will be chaired by Steve Walker, who has experienced the day-to-day running of Lincoln United' as a former Youth Director and is no stranger to the hard work and dedication required within the non-league scene. Steve brings with him a host of connections within the wider community and a passion focused on the future success of our club.

Joining Steve as a part of the Supporters Club, and also taking a seat at the boardroom table as the new Director of Football for Lincoln United is Sam Wilkinson. Sam made 226 appearances on the pitch for United, in addition to 3 seasons as Assistant Manager and 4 seasons as First Team Manager. After a short break away from football, he can't wait to take the reins and drive the club from a behind-the-scenes role.

The list of formidable members continues with the following on board:

  1. Stuart Reddington, 'Reddo', who outside of United, featured for Chelsea, Mansfield, Burton Albion, Gainsborough Trinity and Grantham Town in his playing career, made 317 appearances in a Lincoln United shirt and 3 seasons as Assistant Manager.
  2. Record appearance holder (668) Brendan McDaid, who played within the side that saw 'The Whites' promoted to the Northern Premier League.
  3. Seamus Lawless who just missed out on managing the club into the First Round Proper of the FA Cup during his tenure, having also played for both the First Team and Reserve Team.
  4. Ged Creane, Joint-Manager with the late great John Wilkinson, enjoyed a fantastic FA Cup run, taking 'The Whites' into the First Round proper. Ged also had a great career as a player, not only domestically for Lincoln City, Boston United, Kettering Town, Kings Lynn and Grantham, but internationally for Jaro of Finland and Tsum Wang in Hong Kong.
  5. Another member who played within the NPL promotion-gaining team was Jonty Hawley. Jonty made over 200 club appearances for United, as well as spending time at Portsmouth, Lincoln City and Grantham Town.
  6. Finally, Steve Carter, who played an incredible 526 times for Lincoln United, including against Huddersfield and Walsall in the FA Cup and gaining promotions through the leagues with 'The Whites'.

The group will work on fundraising and events to support the club and will take one seat on the club's Executive Board. They look forward to helping drive the club forward, alongside the current Commercial Directors. Communication on projects and events will be shared through both our club and the Supporters Club's own social media channels once launched.

As a club, we can't wait to work in partnership with a group who have such strong ties with our history and are incredibly grateful for the support.
