Lincoln United FC are delighted to confirm that ex-Nottingham Forest player, Frankie Wilson and ex-Nettleham and Gainsborough Trinity player, Lucy Farrow.

Wilson and Farrow who can both play in various positions, add even more quality and depth to our already fantastic squad. Both players are no strangers to success, Wilson who played an important role in Nettleham's double winning season that saw the now Lincoln City Women enter the FA Women's National League, whilst Farrow played a crucial role in Nettleham's first season in the WNL and the team's 2018-19 County Cup success.

Having represented the team briefly in a match against Boston United ladies during the 2018-19 season, Lucy had this to say on signing for the team. "I'm excited to get back on the pitch with a new team and a great group of girls, working with old faces and new. I can't wait to get started". After attending her first pre-season session last night, ex-Forest winger, Frankie Wilson commented on her move, "After struggling with injuries this past season, I am now fully fit again and looking forward to playing football again, especially playing with former teammates and moving Lincoln United Women through the women's league pyramid".

Director of Women's Football, Gordon Burnley, who has previously worked with Farrow and having watched Wilson closely under her first season with ex-Barnsley Women's boss, Chris Hamilton, had this to say on the two signing for 'The Whites'. "Frankie is a strong versatile player, pacey, direct, full of energy and with a fantastic end product.

"At the age of 16 Frankie made her senior debut for Nottingham Forest against Blackburn Rovers, followed by a brief spell at Loughborough Foxes, she returned back to local football helping Nettleham secure the league and promotion. In 2018, Frankie returned to Forest, starting 18 games, including a match against the Jamaican Women's national team at the City Ground.

"Lucy, a powerful and pacey attacking player that is so selfless for her teammates. Lucy came through the ranks of local women's football but showed that raw ability is a real asset in The FA Women's National League. A player with a fantastic engine, attitude and brilliant end product that will be crucial for the team

"I'm looking forward to working with them both in the coming season".

Chris Funnell, the Manager of 'The Whites' new women's side stated the following. "Lucy turned out in a game for us in the 2018-19 season, she was brilliant that day got herself a goal and was unlucky not to get two really. I have spoken with Lucy and I understand her predicament at the minute whilst she's in her specialist training in the RAF. I'm not expecting to be able to have Lucy week in, week out, for that reason but I'll be in regular communication with her about the situation but, having said that, and having spoken with Lucy, this is a long-term situation. When she's back in the county and out of specialist training, we're going to have a fantastic player within our ranks.

"Having trained last night, and seeing Frankie first-hand, she's everything we knew she would be. Direct, quick and technically very good. After speaking with her a couple of weeks ago and following up after yesterday's session, we both know this is a great decision for both her as a player, and us as a football team. I'm really looking forward to seeing her come out of her shell more and more as we progress but seeing her last night interact with our squad, it's a fantastic start".
