Lincoln United FC are pleased to confirm that Zoe Hopewell has chosen to re-sign with the women's first team.

Having been with the team since its inception in 2017, Zoe represents a valuable player to the squad, primarily playing in central midfield. Despite missing three months of the season last time out due to a fracture in her foot, Hopewell finished in third position overall in terms of appearances and goals; making in excess of 50 appearances for the team and scoring 20 goals - an impressive feat for a central midfielder.

Zoe commented on her return to the team, "I can't wait to get back playing and seeing the team again. We ended last season on very strong performances and should we continue this when we re-start, it will be a very exciting season. The change to Lincoln United will only help the team and club in the future, I look forward to seeing the progress and success we can achieve".

Manager, Chris Funnell, told us "I'm really pleased Zoe has re-committed to the team. She's been an extremely valuable player for the team since its inception in 2017, chipping in with goals from midfield; as well as having a fantastic attitude and commitment, to have finished third in appearances and goals, 50+ and 20, respectively is superb.

"Zoe was really unlucky last season, she started pre-season really well and got herself a shirt in the starting 11 but then a fracture picked up in the Worksop Town game kept her out for three months. Following Christmas, Zoe got her chance again and did really well in the games heading into the run-in but then lockdown happened and the season was cut short.

"Zo is a really useful player as she's competent in a number of positions and I've no doubt, she'll work hard to continue the impact she was making as we ended last season".

Our Commercial Package, specifically our player sponsorship is proving very popular. Zoe is now also available to sponsor, amongst other women's team sponsorship opportunities.
