Last seasons leading goalscorer, the supporters player of the year and players player of the year Matt 'Cotts' Cotton has been rewarded with a contract until the end of the 18/19 Season.

Sam Wilkinson has been delighted with his attitude, adding:

"Cotts has continued to grow and improve.

"He deservedly won the awards last season and has already shown improvement during preseason.

"He’s a player I admire for a number of reasons. The obvious ones are his flair and quality on the ball, but for someone who’s got so much ability he also works as hard as anyone.

"In my opinion he is arguably our hardest working player.

"He’s also growing into a leader on the pitch and in the dressing room.

"His end product is ever improving as so is his decision making. He also does the basics very well now too.

"This is great news for Lincoln United that we can secure Cotts for the season and shows what we are trying to do at Lincoln United.

"We continue to keep making small steps forward to try and achieve success and Cotts will hopefully play a huge part in it."
