GAFFER'S THOUGHTS

We asked for a response on Saturday and I felt we got one.

We were somewhere near the standards we have set of late and if we could have taken our chances we would have been out of sight in the first half.

In the second half Chasetown had the better chances and Rob kept us in it.

He has been consistent all season and you can tell that playing in a settled side, week in week out has benefitted him no end.

In front of him we have been really solid as a back four.

Jaffa and Wardy along with Wrighty have been outstanding and they have given us a real base to go and try and win games by keeping clean sheets.

What we have to be is more ruthless and finish teams off.

I believe we have the firepower to do this but at the moment it is a frustration that we ain't hitting the target.

To progress further up the league we have got to be more consistent in front of goal.

I am delighted how far we have come as a group and we want to get better and better.

With two tough away games at league leaders Mickleover tonight and Norton on Saturday this time next week we will know if we are still in the hunt for a play-off challenge.
