Saturday’s encounter is against opposition that’s in and around us and as we see it a real “6 pointer” and will put day light between the two sides if we can come out victorious.

Tommy's teams always play the game in the right way and have a very good squad of players at his disposal, a bit like us in a lot of ways this season Loughborough have probably lacked that inconsistency which is needed to be higher up the league table,

However for some reason its not been the case but both sides are capable of going on decent runs if we hit the levels we can do, todays game will be a tight affair, they also posses real threats going forward in Norris Watson and Nurse so we have to be at our best defensively to stop them hurting us.

Looking back at the game at Chasetown last Saturday we were punished for defensive errors, marry this with no sting in attack its always gonna be a recipe for disaster and we were on the end of a 4-1 defeat, If we were not creating chances and were getting ripped apart I would be starting to get very concerned going into this crucial period of the season, however, with players back into todays squad we should be able to eradicate this and hopefully be more ruthless in our finishing.

The league this year has been much improved to what i've witnessed in previous seasons and I believe we've been really competitive in 99% of our games, what we have learned is that although we've improved the squad we still need to tweak it here and there if we want to be a better force next season, we also need players to come into the side and give us some food for thought instead of making it easier to bring players back in.

One disappointment that leaves a real bad taste in my mouth is certain players attitude and commitment to the cause nowadays, Evo-stick football is tough and you have to be fit, strong and dedicated, you also know that you train Tuesday-Thursday and play Saturday week in week out from july –may.

The excuses i've heard this week from 1 or 2 of them to miss training is unbelievable, Sam Ian Chris and myself have been around the block far too many times and if im honest very rarely heard of this as players, however mentalities have changed in the modern day player and is a frustration of mine, but when players turn up for the game and are sat in the stands watching only then will the penny drop,

Granted we don’t pay great numbers but these players will be filtered out and replaced by those that can stick to the regime and thus allows us to focus our time and efforts into those that are up for a fight and want to improve.

We have 12 games left and our home games are vitally important in the run in and its where we have picked up most of our points, the players have had a good week in terms of training and fitness work and are a credit to this football club, all came through the session to give us a full squad to choose from and we cant wait for the game to arrive.
We hope to see as many as possible at the game Saturday.
Enjoy the game.
