Following the re-launch of our junior section and as we look toward a start date for the new season, it is a great opportunity to shine the spotlight on our club volunteers, who allow 'The Whites' to provide football from 4 years of age right up to our senior teams.

Today we meet the coaches behind our new U11 Whites, Ian Hughes and Gaz Baxter.

Both Ian and Gaz are first aid trained and hold FA level 1 qualifications. The U11 Whites will be new to Lincoln United this coming season, but have been together since U7s. Ian and Mark took over the coaching and running of the side since the middle of their U9s season. The pair both have sons in the team and mentioned that they are very lucky, not only have such a great team of players but a supportive set of parents too.

Explaining how they got involved in football, Ian told us: "Gaz and I have played football all our lives, finishing playing in our early 30's. I played at Metheringham and with various men's teams. Gaz has played for Jersusalem and Lincoln Moorlands. We both loved our football, we still do, including a good tackle! Gaz also has 3 years management experience within the men's game in Skellingthorpe. We feel as though our shared experiences within the game have taught us lessons that we can now share with the U11 Whites."

Finally talking about the new season ahead, Ian added: "We are looking forward to developing our team as they grow and we can't wait to be a part of the new era within Lincoln United."

We have plenty of sponsorship opportunities available across the club. All of which can be viewed in the club's commercial brochure below. If you are interested in supporting 'The Whites', you can find out more by emailing Glen, Commercial Director - glen.merryweather@lincolnunitedfc.com
