The title race goes to the end of the season, as we travel to Skegness Town on Easter Monday, with a win guaranteeing the title.
Saturday saw a 3-1 win at home against playoff chasing Heanor Town. The lads showed great character to react after being pegged back to 1-1 to go and win the game.
Goals from Josh Batty, Tris Drummond and Elliot Dye extended our unbeaten run to 22 games.
Sean Wright was forced off injured and is highly unlikely to make the game, alongside Owen Vincent who will miss the game. Gbolahan Okewoye is hopeful to make the squad after missing the Heanor game.
Skegness Town sit 14th in the league table, on 45 points after 37 games. We drew with the Lilywhites in the reverse fixture in December, with Cameron Johnson getting the goal on the day.
Assistant manager Paul Grimes previewed the fixture. He said:
“We’ve worked really hard to get ourselves into this position and we know what we have to do Monday.
“We’ll regroup, we’re not expecting an easy game but we look forward to it.”
A win would guarantee the title, other than that a draw would win us the league if Eastwood CFC fail to win.
Up the Whites.
