Read what Whites boss Sam Wilkinson had to say after Wednesday's 5-1 loss at the Sun-hat Villas to Stocksbridge Park Steels in the Evo-Stik South.

He said: “It's hard to swallow that result to be honest.

“It was disgraceful from our point of view.

“I can't think of any positives at all, maybe keeping it down to five is the only one because it could have easily been six or seven on the night.

“We keep giving teams goals.

“After Saturday we said we can't keep giving teams the lead but we've done it again tonight.

“We missed a penalty to get back into it and we still believed we could after that but then conceded another sloppy goal.

“I think even if we had scored three we would still have conceded five. We didn't deserve anything from the game.

“Don't get me wrong, they were a good side but from our point of view it was a horror show defensively.

“If we are not careful it will be the same on Saturday as Kidsgrove will also have the same attacking threats.

“If we defend anything like we did tonight against Kidsgrove on Saturday we will be looking at the same sort of scoreline.

“If we don't get it right quickly, I'll have to sort the personnel out.

“We are going to have to look at things and somehow scrape a win.

“You wouldn't have known we were the home team tonight.

“It's very difficult to pick the lads up after that performance but the only way to do it is to get a result on Saturday.”
