Melton , a former White had done his pre-season with Worksop Town but that didn't work out. His first thought was to come back to United and we are pleased that was the case.

Fleming said, "Steve brings both quality and experience both of which will help to turn round our fortunes."

He added, "We produced an excellent display against Carlton without getting the result. We need to build on the performance and Steve will help us to achieve that."

Melton originally made 82 Appearances for the Whites and scored one goal.

He started life with Nottingham Forest and played for Brighton, Hull City amongst others.
