After an enforced two week break because of the weather, 'The Whites' were back in action as they hosted West Yorkshire side, Brighouse Town. United were without Evan Payne after the defender picked up an injury in training, whilst Millard, Baker, Tucker and Wightwick were all still unavailable through injury; although Theo Mussell was offered his opportunity to start.
The match got off to a frantic start with both sides looking to get an early goal; Leo Priestley had United's best chance in the opening five minutes when his free six-yard header flew over the bar. It was then the chance for the away side to miss a 'guilt-edge' chance, Mohammed Ibrahim couldn't covert at the back post when it looked easier to score. Half-chances were free-flowing for either side with Liversidge and Dye both having efforts on goal but Brett Souter was equal to both.
The away side's front four were lively and Jack Steggles soon had to be equal to a Jack Boyle free-kick which was almost certainly dipping into the top corner, soon followed by another Ibrahim effort, however similarly to Liversidge's for United, Steggles was equal to it. Five minutes before the break, it was the combination of Brighouse's front four again; Steggles was equal to Jack Boyle's effort but the rebounding ball hit Kallum Smith and Mohammed Qasim was on hand to tap the ball into an empty net.

The away side could have extended their lead on two separate occasions before the break. The first effort was cleared off the line by Kallum Smith, whilst on the stroke of half-time, Mohammed Ibrahim's cross just evaded Javelle Clarke.

The second half started with United on the front foot and for the most part, that didn't change as 'The Whites' prompted and probed throughout the entirety of the 45 minutes. United's best free-flowing move resulted in their goal; AJ Adelekan brought the ball out of the back line before playing a one-two with Shane Clarke and expertly tucking the ball into the far corner leaving Souter with no chance.

United continued to apply pressure and looked to have taken the lead three times. Soon after United's equaliser, Shane Clarke broke through Brighouse's back line; Souter spread himself well as the ball dropped agonizingly onto the roof of the net. Jake Park's looping header then had Souter scrambling but the visiting keeper managed to keep the ball out of the net. The latter saw Leo Priestley break free down United's right, his cutback found Matt Cotton whose effort whipped past Souter, only for the crossbar to rescue the visitors.
Javelle Clarke came the closest for Brighouse in the second half, a decisive breakaway found the winger in the middle of the goal but his header was straight at Jack Steggles. 'The Whites' then had a call for a penalty when it was adjudged a Brighouse defender went through the back of Matt Cotton but the referee was unmoved.
