HARD EARNED VICTORY FOR THE WHITES
Lincoln United, who stormed past Belper Town and AFC Mansfield in their last two league games showed they can grind out a result when they weren't at their fluent best.
They were helped by an excellent display from keeper, Mike Emery.
He is pictured receiving his man of the match award from Match Sponsor, Paul Wilson.
In a close fought encounter at Ashby Avenue Lincoln United came out on top with a late Paul Grimes penalty securing the three points.
Kevin Hemagou, the Whites Player of the Month for August, gave the home side the lead after only two minutes with an angled shot from range.
The away side pressed for the equaliser and had long periods of possession. United had their attacking moments too and both sides went close.
Grimes hit the underside of the bar early in the second half but Stocksbridge deservedly equalised minutes later through McFadyen in a scramble following a corner.
A draw looked likely until late in the game when Kallum Smith went on a mazy run and was felled in the box. Grimes coolly converted the spot kick and despite some late aerial pressure United held firm to claim the victory.
