Lincoln United lock horns with Dunston UTS this weekend as they look to get back to winning ways.
After a tough defeat last weekend against a strong Stockton side, ‘The Whites’ will be eager to make amends.
Manager Sam Wilkinson said: “We conceded poor goals, they dominated from start to finish. It was one of those days, a real off day from everybody, maybe one player can come out with any real credit. Obviously, it was very disappointing considering the week before we were unlucky not to get a point against Shildon”.
“There are no easy games. We need to get tighter in midfield and be a threat on the counter. Hopefully we can make sure the things that went wrong last week don’t happen again”.
Dunston currently sit in 6th place, seven points above ‘The Whites’ and come into this weekends fixture off the back of a 2-1 league defeat to Sheffield.
Wilkinson has been very unfortunate with injuries over the last few weeks:
“Every week we seem to get new injuries, we’ve lost Max Baker this week because of a broken metatarsal – he’s out for six weeks. On top of that, Tristan Skerritt, Simon Biggs and Callum Chapman are injured, so it seems to be one thing after another”.
‘The Whites’ last win came against Tadcaster Albion, in a 2-1 victory and Wilkinson will be hopeful his players can replicate a similar performance. A victory could possibly boost United up to 12th if results go in their favour.
All focus now turns to 3pm on Saturday in an important game in Tyneside.
