Match Preview: Pickering Town vs Lincoln United
After last week’s match was postponed, Lincoln United travel to Pickering looking to build on their recent positive form.
Off the back of a win and a draw, ‘The Whites’ are placed 13th in the NPL – East Division Table with their opposition sitting in 18th, albeit they have played two fewer games.
Manager Sam Wilkinson is hoping his side continues to put in another good defensive shift while also seeing more of a threat the other end of the pitch too.
“I want to win the game; it doesn’t really matter how. I’d like a big gap between us and Pickering but in an ideal world I want us to be solid as we have been in recent weeks, but I want us to be more of an attacking threat.
“I feel earlier in the season we were a constant attacking threat, but we have been leaking far too many goals. The last couple of games we've looked really solid, but we've not really had that attacking threat that was there earlier in the season, so we were trying to tweak it to find that right balance.”
There are no fresh injury concerns in the squad which is welcomed news as the club look to recover from the injury crisis it has suffered so far this season.
Building on this, the ‘Whites’ have been further strengthened with the addition of two more new players to the squad following the recent acquisition of striker Cenk Acar.
All focus now turns towards Saturday’s fixture as United travel to Pickering Town Recreation Club for a 3pm kick-off.
