Lincoln United will be looking to bounce back after last week’s narrow loss, as they face Ossett United tomorrow.
‘The Whites’ travel to West Yorkshire this Saturday, where they play their seventh away game in nine matches.
Ninth placed Ossett United will be another test for United, as a 14-point difference separates the two sides.
Last weekend’s game was exciting, but ultimately disappointing for ‘The Whites’ and manager Sam Wilkinson says:
“There are so many positives to take from last Saturday’s performance. It was a game we should have won or drawn; however, we can’t concede four goals and expect to get anything from the game.”
“We did play one of our best attacking displays of the season and created so many chances, so that’s a huge positive for us.”
The manager acknowledges that conceding goals is something his team needs to improve on. ‘The Whites’ have conceded 15 goals in their past four games.
Wilkinson says: “We can’t keep shipping poor goals. We’re continuing to work on that and trying to find solutions to stop conceding goals.”
“Ossett is another tough away game the fixtures don’t seem to have been too kind to us lately.
“It’s been very difficult period, but we’re hopeful if we can keep things tighter at the back and continue to be dangerous going forward, we can get a positive result and performance.”
‘The Whites’ injury crisis is beginning to subside, having dealt with a flurry of injuries mid-season.
Wilkinson says: “We’ve got a couple of doubtful players for Saturday but no extra injury problems.”
“We’ve got a few players coming back to fitness and getting valuable minutes either on loan or with our development team, so the injuries are clearing up.”
Attention now turns to this Saturday’s game, with kick off at 3:00pm at the Ingfield Stadium.
