The final match of pre-season saw Lincoln United Women make the short trip to the North of the City where they took on National League Reserve side, Lincoln City Women. In a frustrating pre-season which has seen United's women have to adapt consistently throughout the summer, this match would set the team up nicely for the opening day of the season, against Borrowash Victoria Ladies.
The two big names within women's football in Lincolnshire brought quite a crowd for a pre-season friendly and it was the hosts who started the better. The drive and tenacity from City's midfield wasn't matched by United, allowing 'The Imps' to work a couple of half chances in the opening 15 minutes. However, the home-side did take the lead inside 20 minutes, Steadman's free-kick struck the underside of the bar and East was on hand to tap in the rebound, giving City a deserved lead.

After the goal, the match settled down but City were still more prevalent on the attack in comparison to United. Gilbert made a great save from McHamilton, moments later the tall striker rounded United's keeper but the angle was too tight to find the back of the net. United found a few half openings thanks to the work of Abbie Murrell and Abbie Ringrose but the newly promoted side couldn't muster anything meaningful on goal.
