Lincoln United Women are set to host Notts County Women on Easter Sunday as ‘The Whites’ look to make it three consecutive victories at Ashby Avenue.
After a week without competitive football, Chris Funnell’s side will lock horns with Adam Dunleavy’s Notts County team. The two Premier Division sides last played in March, where The Magpies held United to a 1-1 draw in Nottingham.
Since the reverse fixture, Lincoln United have been on red hot form, picking up maximum points and scoring 25 goals in their last two games. Notts County have been struggling for form recently, picking up just one point from their previous three games.
Manager Chris Funnell described their previous game against Notts County as the most disappointing result his side has had this season. He said, “The performance in comparison to the points that we dropped against Chesterfield and Northampton was the best.
“The performance deserved three points, it’s the best that we’ve played against Notts County, and we need to go into Sunday’s game with the same mindset to put in the same performance that we did away from home.”
Elise Keyworth is set to make her first appearance for ‘The Whites’ this season. The attacker last played in the Trevor Clifton Trophy Final against Chesterfield last season.
Demi Barai and Heather Gardener are also available for selection after they missed the last home game against Loughborough Students.
Abbie Murrell and Lucy Farrow will be missing from this weekend’s squad as they are unavailable for selection.
Kick-off will be at 2pm on Sunday with the two teams in action at Ashby Avenue.
