Both teams were committed to the task throughout with some fine passages of play lasting five minutes without a breakdown. The Lions leant Hayle two players, Jay Mason and Joe Chapman, and both performed admirably attacking and tackling fiercely. For Liskeard Henry Dean was forever sniping around the scrum and was rewarded with two tries, one a fine sprint up the touchline. Oli Aniyi was rewarded for his relentless tackling with a fine try of his own. Ben Fisher made a good debut whilst Harry Barlow won man of the match for his outstanding bone jangling tackling. Oli Dennett led the backs maturely throughout and Oli Bragg could quite easily have picked up two tries. In the pack Ethan Crabb nearly capped his fine performance with a try, collecting the ball from half-way and was just pushed into touch a few metres from the line. Captain Slater slotted two conversions to cap a fine morning for rugby.
