STATEMENT - DRAINAGE WORKS

STATEMENT - DRAINAGE WORKS

Simon Jasinski

Liss Parish Council have released the following statement regarding on-going drainage works at Newman Collard:

"Please be aware that although the majority of the drainage works at the site have been completed, the fencing is required to remain in place until the end of the month to allow the establishment of the grass in the drainage trenches. Please bear with us whilst this fencing remains in place.

The drainage works were funded by the South Downs National Park following a successful CIL application from the Newman Collard Playing Fields Trust.

Since the Trust passed full responsibility for the site to Liss Parish Council in May, the Parish Council has worked to deliver the project prior to the expiry of the funding.

The works have been overseen by the Grounds Management Association with the aim of improving drainage at the site as a whole."

We at Liss Athletic Football Club would like to reiterate that while we may be a primary user of the currently enclosed pitch, funding and delivery of the drainage works has been the sole responsibility of our landlords, Liss Parish Council, for the benefit of the whole community.

We're looking forward to getting back to Newman Collard following this mini hiatus, with a return expected on Saturday, October 3.
