Littleborough third team were taught another tough lesson about Division 3 North with a 37-19 defeat to Trafford MV.

Desperate to gain their first win of the campaign, Littleborough started brightly and found themselves on the front foot.

However it was Trafford who bagged the first try of the game as the centre burst through and narrowly evaded the last ditch challenge of first half full back Aaron Jones.

The visitors then got a second down the right hand corner as the number 8 steamed over from the base of the scrum.

Trafford were well drilled and forced Boro back into the 22. One occasion saw Jones get on the wrong side of the refs whistle for not rolling away and punished with a yellow.

During his 10 minutes off the pitch, Trafford capitalised with another 2 tries to extend the lead to 23 points to nil.

In total contrast to the first half, the second saw a rejuvenated Littleborough side spark into life.

First James Muir showed his brute strength, barraging over from a tap penalty 5 metres out. Thomas Travis converted to make it Boro's first 7 pointer of the season.

Before a second try quickly followed as James Muir once again plowed a hole in the Trafford defence before offloading to prop David Mills to score under the posts. Conor Tetlow converted this score as Travis was in the bin.

Away side Trafford stunted the increasing momentum with a well worked try that was polished off by the right winger.

Handy work from Keir Tweddle on his first rugby game ever and Aaron Jones in their own half set full back Danny Whitehead free down the left. He had the presence of mind to fend off the covering tackle and gas his way to down behind the posts.

Trafford finished the game the way they started with a try. This time the number 5 was the individual credited with getting the ball on the try line.
