Straight from K/O Boro received the ball and used it well for Winger Liam Lloyd to cross the Try line for 5points only after only just over a minute’s play, what a start for Boro. But then straight after Host crossed the try line for their first 5points only, unbelievable. Game now moving on to half way stage of first half, good run by Boro’s No 8, David Kearns but then Host applied their own pressure. Then Boro took over once again and passing the ball down the line resulted in Kearns scoring Boro’s 2nd Try which this time was converted by Nathan Coop, to take the lead once more. This was followed with good attacking play from Murphy Holt and then continued with support from his colleagues to take play into Host 5metres area where Coop speedily ran forward supported by Chris Hough then ball back to Coop for further Boro Try only. This play was shortly followed with Host team once again on attack to score their second Try plus conversion, making it 12pts to 17pts. Then good running rugby by Boro from Hough and Adam Wayne led to Brook Reader crossing the line again for further 5points only to put Boro ahead by 10pts at halftime.
At start of second half Host crossed the line for an early converted Try. Then continued to improve and later obtained their 4th Try only to then take the lead in the match 24pts to 22pts. Following this disaster for Boro and against run of play at this point in time Boro’s Wayne broke away and outpaced the opposition to cross the line again for Boro to collect further 5points to take the lead once more. Would you believe almost straight the match swung back again and Host crossed the line again, plus conversion, what a game. After several player changes by Boro they created another Try, this time from Ted Chadwick and converted by Coop to make the score 36pts to 34pts, exciting afternoon. This positive play by Boro spurred them on and they built a further attack to collect a further Try from Hough, who was having a good game in support and Coop converted, to change the score to 36pts to 41pts, whew! Now coming towards the end of the match, further substitute player, Chris Collins was seen jumping up and down as he led a forward drive over the opposition line to touch down Boro’s 8th Try, well done Chris, 36pts to 46pts. Then if that wasn’t surprising enough right at the end of the match Boro were awarded a Penalty which was converted by Coop to create the final unbelievable successful score for Boro to end the Season!!
This was an amazing afternoon for Rugby Union, enjoyed by both Teams and their Supporters and they should all be nominated as "Men of the Match "!!
