The 2018/19 season comes to an end.

The end of another season is now upon us and what a great way to finish our first ever season in the Premier Division it has been, thanks to four consecutive victories and an unbeaten April. We began the month in the relegation zone but end the season eight points above the drop zone. We always knew that this season was going to be a difficult one but our objective back in August was to avoid relegation and this was achieved with a game to spare The premier division is not an easy division to compete in as resources vary from club to club and we knew that we were going to endure some tough weeks during the course of the campaign.

We could have gone and spent thousands of pounds this season, but it would not have been sustainable, and we have proven that this was not needed anyway. We put our faith in the players that got us promoted last season – ten of Saturday’s starting line-up and twelve of the fourteen-man squad represented us last season in Division One and were part of our promotion winning team a year ago. Although we may not have any silverware to share this time around, I firmly believe that our achievements this season are just as impressive as those of last season. For the third consecutive season the club will finish in its highest ever league position, so this once again shows progress.

I must finish my notes by thanking all the players for their tremendous efforts throughout the season, I have been proud of every single one of you as you have represented our club with great passion and commitment. We endured some long winless runs, but you stuck together and showed great loyalty when it would have been easy to walk away. A big thank you also to all our fantastic supporters who have continued to travel over to Eastbourne to watch us play with many travelling further afield to away matches as well. Thank you to our sponsors and volunteers who help the club run on a day to day basis and on match days. I must thank the wonderful committee and volunteers at Eastbourne United who have made us feel so welcome once again. My final thank you is to Russell, Chris and Wes who have worked tirelessly to ensure that we will once again be enjoying Premier Division football next season.

Enjoy the break as it will soon be pre-season and the fun will begin all over again!
