A 4-0 win over Sittingbourne sets up a home tie with Whitehawk in the next round

Littlehampton Town over came Sittingbourne in an FA Cup replay last night to take them into the First Round Qualifying for the first time since 2017.
Joe Benn scored one of the fastest goals ever recorded at the Sportsfield when he smashed the Marigolds into a 1-0 lead in just 27 seconds. The lead was doubled just before half-time when a Dave Herbert corner was converted into the net by Dion Jarvis' diving header.
But after taking a 2-0 lead against Sittingbourne on Saturday, only to slip to 2-2 which forced last night's replay, the Golds had to repel any attack from the Kent side in the second half.
The margin of lead grew on the 65th minute when Tom Biggs struck the net, only for player/manager George Gaskin to guarantee our progress to the next round with our fourth goal in the 85th minute.
The win means we'll play Sussex-side Whitehawk at home in the First Round Qualifying of the FA Cup on Sunday 5th September, 3pm kick-off. The last time we reached this round, we lost out to Chipstead in 2017 in a replay away from home.
Ironically, Whitehawk will play Sittingbourne in the Isthmian South East Division league this coming Saturday, so that will provide a fascinating indicator of form.
