The Liverpool Barbarians was formed in 2013. Originally known as the Rugby Club of Liverpool, the club was founded by Christopher Shirling-Rooke in 2009.

Big Chris, as he is known approached Dr Chris and asked him to form a sevens rugby team in the belief that sevens would soon become the next big thing.

Dr Chris put together a team with the help of Tim Fourie and Andrew Birtwistle and the rest they say is history!
