NWC Plate Final Winners

Cup glory for the Lions u14s as they complete a historical double and win the clubs first competitive knock out cup win.

The road to the final started with the Lions travelling to local rivals Clock Face Miners who were in the division above. The Quarter Final took place on July 3rd, result

The semi final was again an away game when on Sept 25th travelled to South Trafford Raiders, eventually coming out 12-18 winners.

Oct 15th saw the Final at Leigh Miners Academy as the NWC League ran it's u14s finals day. The Lions were up first vs. title rivals Leigh East.
The Lions struck first through Will Loughnane but the conversion was missed. Will struck again with Will Shepherd converting this time. Score 10-0.

The Lions weren't playing their best rugby but Leigh were the more nervous coughing up possession a couple of times when in good try scoring range.

Leigh took 1st blood after the break to make it 14-6, but it wasn't long before the Lions struck back via Jack Nolan to take the score to 18-6.

Will Loughnane scored two more in the 2nd half before the Easts got a late consolation try to take the final result to Liverpool Lions 28 - 12 Leigh East
