The match was arranged by Stephen Walley's brother Lee and played at People's Park. The match was set up as a charity game with funds raised going to the Evening Post run campaign for Singleton Hospital Caner Unit.

Warriors went on to play Asda quite frequently and they were all full on matches, the ferocity of this match catching (for one) Anthony Bonar by surprise.
Lee Picton featured, at least for some of the game at scrum half but was actually out-stropped and out-niggled by his opposite number for once - he was very competitive with a fair bit of gamesmanship thrown in.
Lewi had to brandish his yellow card after about 5 minutes at Big "Star Wars" Chris.
Roger Bowen insisted on taking early kicks and missed two penalties early on. Dai Spriggs took over after the 1st Warriors try and his conversion of Betws pair Gwil and Rich was he difference with Asda missing both their conversions.
The ferocity of the match was indicated when Roger suffered a broken nose but of course it was all forgotten at the final whistle.

Afterwards it was back to the Bwlch club for Karaoke. Lee Walley leaving Gwil in charge of keeping Steve out of the main bar which is far more difficult than defending any try line. As well as having chat up lessons from Steve and having to listen to "Paper Roses" a lot, Gwil was also concerned for Ioan Morgan. Ioan my not have a lot of vocal vocabulary but he did like a drink and it was a full hour of persuading before he would leave the bar and a similar effort to work out where he was going back to.
