Narrow defeat in tight tussle

Llan found themselves on the wrong end of a low scoring game as Matt Thomas ' 60th minute free kick settled a game that despite being lively and keenly contested failed too produce many goal mouth incidents .
Coedy had the best 2 chances of the opening period before Ben Realey failed to connect clearly with Naz Farhat's inch perfect corner .

The second half was tight with the game in general being contested in the midfield area . Jordan Powell looked threatning on the break and at the opposite end Thomas was holding the ball up well and working hard to create a few openings for Coedy . Some late pressure failed to find the equaliser with Mykel Woolett saving twice from Farhat free kicks .

The young reserve side continued to show promise with a point against a Rhos Aelwyd second string containing a good mix of youth and experience . The visitors took the lead on 72 minutes when a jinking run from former Lex winger Mark Williams was followed by a neat finish by the same player . Llan continued to press on and the young legs showed as a deep cross from James Collins was hooked home on the half volley by 16 year old Sam Gostage for his first goal in Senior football . R=Tom Edwrads came close to finding the winner but the keeper was out quickly to smother his shot from 10 yards out . Veteran Steve Brookes came close to sealing all 3 points for the visitors but his 30 yard effort came back to safety from the post .
All in all an entertaining game and a fair result as both teams remain unbeaten heading into the Bank Holiday weekend fixtures
