Llangollen Town FC would like to welcome there new signing Darren Stretch to the club, in his heyday Darren was one of the most prolific strikers in the area and had a turn of pace which was frighting. I myself not only played against Darren on many occasions but also had the pleasure to play in a few teams with him, I’m sure he will be a valuable addition to the club and someone the younger players could learn from.
A little story about Darren is when he was playing for Chirk AAA’s and I was playing for Penley we were trailing 1-0 with 20 minutes remaining when Darren broke down the middle using his pace, he danced around me giving me the V-sign and loads of abuse as he did so before taking the ball within four yards of the goal and striking it as hard as he could............needless to say the game ended 1-1 and the ball has never been seen again to this day, although there have been some sightings on the moon!!!. HaHa
