Llan made the journey today to Rhos Aelwyd in good spirits after a good away win last week at Corwen. Llan started the brighter playing down the slope without causing any clear cut chances. However it was the hosts that took the lead. The home keeper's kick was missed by the Llan defence and the Rhos centre forward calmly scored the first goal on 15 minutes. This didn't deter Llan and they pressed forward. On 30 minutes they were back in the game. In a goal mouth scramble, Llan hit the woodwork twice only to be denied an equaliser by a handball on the line. The referee brandished a red card and Dale Evans calmly despatched the penalty to bring honours even. With the hosts down to 10 men Llan sat back slightly and the home side dealt comfortably for the remainder of the half.

The second half saw Llan start slowly. However they slowly upped the pace and the game was now starting to be played in the home half. On 65 minutes Llan crafted a good opening with a good ball from Joe Vaughan putting Andy Garmston in the clear. However the home keeper was quick off his line to narrow the angle for Andy, who put his shot wide. With the game entering the final 10 minutes, the ball fell at the edge of the Rhos box and James Burgess lashed home to spark wild celebrations. Llan held firm for the final 10 minutes to secure an important three points.

An excellent performance from the boys in a difficult game on a difficult surface. It keeps the improved run going and gives the boys confidence. Next week we host Rhayader Town at the #TheatreofTrees kick off 2.30.
