On a glorious sunny afternoon, Llan welcomed Penycae to Tanllan for a game that took on added importance with the results for the teams around us in recent weeks. Llan started the brighter and forced the pace early on. A couple of early corners were won and from one of these Llan opened the scoring on 8 minutes. with Garmo's corner being headed home by Matt Evans. Llan were at it all across the pitch and were winning the ball high up the pitch. Garmo should have got Llan's second after good work from Tommy Evans. Joe Vaughan then missed a good chanceafter a good header from Glenn, Penycae were dangerous on the break but the home defence stood firm.
Half time score Llan 1 Penycae 0
The only slight concern was could Llan continue in the same vein in the second half. We needn't have worried as they started in exactly the same vein. Pressure was being applied all over the pitch. On 53 minutes, Llan got their second of the afternoon. A good ball from Huw France put Will Roberts-Morris clear on the left and his cross allowed Joe to tap home from close range into the roof of the net. Llan were now in full control and the game was finally put to bed on 71 minutes. A carbon copy goal saw Joe get his second of the afternoon. Llan then defended strongly to ensure a clean sheet to cap off a great performance and afternoon.
Full time score Llan 3 Penycae 0
A great performance from the boys for a well deserved three points. This was probably our best 90 minute performance of the season. No game next weekend. Our next game is away to Builth Wells on the 29th April
