Llan played their first game in the Nathaniel MG Cup yesterday (Saturday) when they travelled to face Prestatyn Town. Llan started strongly and were awarded a penalty on 7 minutes when Iwan Matthews was fouled on 7 minutes. Mattie Jones calmly converted the spot kick. Llan then defended stoutly and looked like they would take the lead into the break but a controversial call from the linesman lead to the home side equalising on the stroke of half time.

The hosts came out quickly and were ahead with their first attack of the second half. Llan were under the cosh but they were still looking dangerous on the break, with Mattie Williams playing dangerous balls through the home rearguard. Prestatyn doubled their lead on 67 minutes and the game was effectively over as a contest on 72 minutes when they scored their fourth of the afternoon. Llan steadied the ship and Iwan Matthews was again unlucky not to score after a good run was thwarted by the home keeper. Then in the last minute Mattie Jones got his second of the afternoon when he scored direct from the corner.
