Wednesday this week saw the passing of club stalwart Bob Williams. Bob had a long association with the football club being a former player, manager, chairman and committee member. He was chairman of the club when we made the big decision of moving from recreational football to senior football in 2000. He drove the club forward and we would not be where we are today without the passion and commitment Bob showed as chairman. His work with Llan was recognised throughout Mid Wales and he was elected President of the then Spar Mid Wales League. This was a great honour and a reflection of the esteem he was held throughout Mid Wales. Indeed, he was still President of the league for the coming season. With the news of his passing messages of condolences have been received from football clubs and individuals throughout Mid Wales, with all noting that he was a true clubman and a gentleman. Wednesday’s events have not only left a big hole in the football club but also in our community. Rest in peace Bob – you will be sorely missed by us all.
