Football finally returned to the Theatre of Trees today with the club hosting a Nathaniel MG Cup tie. Llangefni were the visitors and the game was played following the Safe to Return to Play protocols which limits the amount of people in the ground to 60.

Llan made a poor start and were 2 down within the first 20 minutes. Llan slowly worked their way back into the game and they halved the deficit on the half an hour mark through a finish from captain Joe Vaughan. Llan were now in the ascendancy and were penning Llangefni in their own half, without really creating clear cut chances. Debutant Cameron Griffith Norris made an excellent save on 40 minutes when the striker was clean through on goal to keep the scoreline the same.

The second half again saw Llan have the better of the play. Unfortunately the final ball wasn't quite at it's best and chances were at a premium. Then on 70 Joe Vaughan got his second of the afternoon after he pounced on a mistake from the visiting keeper. The game was now in the balance with both sides having their moments. The heavy pitch was taking it's toll and both sides never really created a clear cut chance in the closing minutes.

So penalties it was, and the visitors prevailed 4-3 to book their place in the hat for the next round draw. Llan's penalties were scored by Khyam, Joe and Zack. We wish Llangefni all the best for the future rounds.

It was great to have football back and massive thanks must be given to all for ensuring that the protocols were in place and followed .

The reserves returned from Berriew with a 3-2 victory with goals from Dan Hindley, Gruff Evans and Lee Williams. A big result for the boys.
