London Scottish has a very long tradition of offering rugby at all levels and is very proud of the senior teams that play outside of the semi-professional arena. In our first season (2018/19) we fielded two London Scottish Lions teams, the 1st XV (Lions) who began in Herts Middlesex League 2, and the 2nd XV (Lions B's who went into Middlesex Merit Table Division 2.
After a highly successful maiden season, which saw the Lions win their league with an unbeaten record (bonus-point victories in every game), and the Lions B's finishing runners-up to London New Zealand in MMT2 – going on to win the playoff game against Old Streetonians. To finish a great inaugural season, the Lions also won the Middlesex Shield and in April combined forces with the London Scottish professional team to win the Melrose 7s in Scotland.
The Lions have earned promotion every year a full season was played since 2018 (with 2019 a half season and 2020 cancelled due to Covid), and in 2024/25 they won the Regional 2 Thames competition to reach Regional 1 South Central, marking our first time playing Level 5 rugby. After last season’s incredible campaign, we now look forward to facing tougher opposition, fresh challenges, and new opportunities to prove ourselves at our highest level yet as one of the fastest-growing clubs in the country.
Whether you are an ex-international, an aspiring young player or someone who likes to don the boots once a month, we have the right set-up for you to enjoy your rugby. And no – you do not need to be Scottish!
Training takes place on a Wednesday evening from 8:00pm to 9:30pm at the Kings House Sports Ground, Riverside Drive, Chiswick, London, W4 2SH. What 3 Words = amuse.truck.coins
