The club, which currently plays in the Midlands 2 North (East) league has had a storming season so far, securing multiple bonus point wins, placing them third place in the table after two consecutive years of promotions.

The club has secured three Long Eaton based team members and two Nottingham rugby players to lead the senior teams and continue this success into next season.

Nottingham Rugby scrum-half, Murray McConnell, will be continuing on at the club as Head Coach, whilst Nottingham Rugby Captain and lock, Tom Holmes, will continue on in his assistant head coaching role.

Long Eaton locals, Duncan Gooch (who already holds the position as Long Eaton Rugby President) and Richie Burne will be re-signing as coaches and Tim Plant will be continuing his position as senior sports therapist for the club.

After the huge impact the professional players and supporting coaches have had on Long Eaton’s progress over the past couple of years, the club are delighted to welcome the team back for yet another rugby season.

Having professional players on board who are at the forefront of the latest coaching techniques and at the top of their game has had an amazing impact on the club’s professional attitude as well as our approach to training and playing matches.

“After the success we’ve experienced since Murray and Tom have come on board, we were keen to keep the momentum going, so these re-signings are a real win for us as a club. Having Duncan, Richie and Tim on board also makes a real difference and reflects the strong community aspect that is so important to us – it’s brilliant to have home-grown guys who have ties to both our town and our rugby club back on board for the 2019/20 season.”
